So here we go... Blog entry No 1
I am new with blogging so have mercy... hmm, OK. This isn`t working out as good as I thought it would because I have now been sitting in front of the computer for 10 min and havent really written anything other than *so here we go*...
Maybe I should introduce myself first. My name is Bianca (good start, huh) and I am now... not willing to tell my age. Ah, no. Just kidding. I am 30 years young. After 4 years of American elemetary school and aditional 9 years in German highschool (yep, you added it up correctly - 13 years of school) I graduated and started a dancing career. THEN would have been a great time to go to the US for a few months but I decided to stay.
Obviously (and maybe thank god) I dont want to end up in my fifties as a dancer not knowing what to do... so I decided to go to university. I started studying Sports and English liturature. It wasnt always easy but after 5 years and two degrees (state examination and Masters degree) I left university. And again THEN would have been a great time to go to the US for a few months, but I decided to just add the two years of practical schooling in order to be a teacher for higher education in Germany...
I have just finished these two years at school... and yes, thats right: NOW is exactly the last chance to go to the US for a few months. And that is exactly what I am going to do :-)
Flight is booked, room and car arranged (thank you Alex :-) and I am nervous as hell... and very very happy, and very very sad. I will miss quite a lot of people a whole lot. One in particular. And of course I will miss my dog Magic and my cat Ami, and all of my friends... I am also looking forward to a hell of a good time:-) I hope to meet many, many interesting people and maybe even find a new friend or two. I want to live in a country where the sun always shines (California, dont disappoint me!), I want to dance and dance and dance, (try to) work as an extra and hopefully bring my English to perfection. After living in Germany for over 20 years its about time for some authentic American slang :-)
Its strange that something you have been wanting to do so badly and what you have been waiting for, for as long as you can remember, acually also brings so many tears and sad feelings. Now why cant something just be totally great or totally horrible? It would be easier to sort things out if it was like that...
Anyhow, I will be keeping friends and family up to date via this blog, happy to hear from anyone else whose dream I may just be living... I will upload a whole bunch of pics (right after I have figured out how) and I do hope you all enjoy :-)
Take care
Bianca
